The vines are mostly located on geological substrates of plutonic rock (granites, tonalites, syenites and nepheline syenites), although the vines are grown on a wide variety of pedological layers (namely schistose and argilo-calcareous layers).
It is also important to mention that grapevines and olive trees, given their rusticity, are normally planted on poor shallow soils, which are fairly barren, have a low productivity but are essential for a quality policy.
